HOW TO USE RATE YOUR NEIGHBORS

🏠 Getting Started

Search your address to find your neighborhood. Type your street address, city, or ZIP code into the search bar on the home page and click Explore & Rate. Rate Your Neighbors will drop you right into your area on the map.

🗺️ The Map — 3 Viewing Modes

Once you're on the Browse page, use the mode buttons at the top of the map to switch between views:

• Ratings — Shows only community-submitted neighbor ratings. The cleanest, most focused view.
• Safety — Adds crime and safety heatmap layers so you can see security trends in context.
• Explore — Shows everything: ratings, safety data, and points of interest for the full neighborhood picture.

Use the Map Filter buttons (🛡️ Security 🧘 Chill 👥 Social) to spotlight community vibes by type, and toggle Neighborhood Trends (📊) to add a neighborhood-level color overlay. See the Map Filters & Neighborhood Trends FAQ below for details.

⚡ Action Hub — Report vs. Rate

Tap anywhere on the map to select a location, then use the Action Hub in the sidebar:

• Report a Vibe — Use this to flag what's happening right now in an area (noise, activity, safety concerns). It's a quick, time-stamped snapshot.
• Rate a Neighbor — Use this to leave a lasting star rating (1–5) and written review about a specific address or neighbor.

🎯 Missions — Earn XP

Missions are daily civic tasks that help verify your community's data and earn you XP. Each day you'll get a randomized mission such as:

• Verify a rating left by another user
• Report the vibe of a park or transit stop near you
• Leave a review for a location you've visited recently

Complete missions to unlock badges and rise through the Chrono contributor ranks. Find your active mission in the sidebar under Daily Mission.
